Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is a simple and tax-effective way of making a regular donation to the Cancer Charity and helping us to give more people real hope of surviving cancer. Your donation is taken directly from your salary before tax and the taxman then makes up the difference.
Payroll gifts provide The Cancer Charity with regular and reliable support allowing us to plan ahead and commit our resources to future treatment and research programmes, benefiting cancer patients everywhere.
How does the tax relief work?
The real benefit of payroll giving to an employee paying standard rate income tax at 22% is that a £10 donation costs just £7.80 (or £6 to higher rate taxpayers). What's more, with the additional incentive of the matching scheme on donations on SME employees, the same donation would be worth as much as £20 to the charity. See table below:
